Start May 12, 2008
The US Postal Service changes scheduled for
May 12th are in the currently available CPS service pack "D"
and ready for downloading. The
changes are programmed to take effect only on or after May 12th.
Special Note: The upcoming CPS update includes support for the new USPS Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box for standard
domestic and APO/FPO deliveries for those that have not
upgraded to service pack "C". This update also supports
the new USPS International Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate
Box.
The new postal pricing and classifications will include exciting
commercial discounts for shippers using CPS with Endicia to print
postage on their shipping labels.

There are significant changes to the USPS pricing structure and new
discounts that should be studied to best use USPS advantages where
available. Here is a summary of the changes most likely to affect
shippers:
Pricing highlights for package shippers:

Commercial price discounts are available for shippers using Endicia to
print postage on their shipping labels. Those using manifesting will not
receive the commercial discount pricing. Retail Price is the standard
counter price for postage at the Post Office. Commercial Price is the
price available to Endicia users for selected USPS services. Express
Mail and Priority Mail customers will have discounts available.

Express Mail switches to a zone-based pricing system, so shippers pay
less for nearby destinations.

For Express Mail International and Priority Mail International, last
year’s discounts of 8% and 5% when using Stealth Postage and the correct
international label will continue to be in effect.

New prices for First-Class Mail.

New prices for Package Services.

Shape-Based Pricing (letter, parcel, flat) Expands to First Class
International.

First-Class Mail International price groups expand from five to nine
groups.

USPS Insurance rates will rise.

All changes effective May 12th are included in CPS service pack "D".
